“The training I received at Coach Training World enables me to blend the skills I’ve honed over my career and combine them with new skills to empower women to live their richest, most joyful lives. It brings me great joy to be part of their journey as they say, “yes” to themselves and the things they want to do. It feels like such a win-win-win because they start sharing their gifts with the world.”

Since she was in college, Sharon has worked in some type of helping profession. She’s been a social worker, counselor, trainer, massage therapist, teacher at a massage school, and a yoga instructor. Before becoming a coach, she was also a self-employed massage and yoga teacher for almost 20 years and taught part-time at a massage school for nearly six years.

Sharon spent her life amassing a wide range of skills and experience – all of them in service to others. But she began to notice a need for support around the issue of living a life of purpose in a way that didn’t leave people feeling like a casualty. Time and time again, she’d watch her students, colleagues, and clients get excited about a path for their lives. But then they’d get stuck, overwhelmed, start to question whether they deserve it, or get beat down in some other way. All too often, these people with big dreams returned to jobs they hated because they couldn’t figure out how to make their dream a reality.

“I kept saying, ‘Someone needs to offer this kind of support’. Eventually, I realized it was my job.”

After graduating from CTW in 2014, Sharon successfully combined her healing and yoga backgrounds with the tools and techniques of professional coaching. It’s not uncommon for her to use powerful coaching questions, breath work, energy work, and body awareness… all in a single session.

Sharon specializes in helping women who feel stuck and overwhelmed connect with their purpose and reclaim their vitality and joy. She helps them find clarity about what they want then accompanies them as they discover how to attain it. Whether that dream is running a business, writing a book, or changing jobs, Sharon helps her clients work more consistently on their self-care and places their passions front and center.

“It goes back to the analogy of teaching someone to fish versus giving them a fish. With coaching, I’m helping my clients get unstuck and do things they’ve dreamed about for years. But I’m not just helping them get unstuck in the moment. They walk away with awareness and tools that help them in the future.”

Today Sharon works with women individually in sessions that span at least three months. In addition to standard coaching sessions, she also leads a range of fun and inspiring personalized retreats, including: destination retreats, local Oregon weekends, and individual retreats virtually or in-person. Not surprisingly, she is currently working on a book about retreats.

“I love the flexibility that coaching allows me as a professional. I can offer coaching at my physical office, on private retreat, via phone or video chat. Plus, coaching enhances the other services I offer – like yoga retreats and teaching – providing my clients faster, more consistent results.”
